Today we had a visit from Kate who spoke to us about our own feelings and what we can do about it...

We watched a video about how our feelings can get the best of us... take a look to see how you can calm yourself down so that you can reactivate your thinking brain.

She showed us the different parts of our brains:

* the survival brain (emotional brain). When our brain is like this we are not thinking very sensibly. We are in fight/flight/freeze mode. We feel uncomfortable and feel like we are in danger.

* the thinking brain (this can be flipped). When we have our thinking brain active we are able to problem solve our problems. We can reason with our friends, talk out our issues and listen to what others have to say.
